Information You Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies that search experience; Battle Creek Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries on its servers. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the host may create standard logs containing an IP address, browser information, requested pages, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or comparable tools may be used for basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Technical Data Is Used
The limited data supports operation, diagnostics, aggregate traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference pages. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links may lead to county and state record portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. The operator of each destination controls information submitted there under its own privacy policy. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and technical-support providers process logs for the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. Information is disclosed outside those functions only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because Battle Creek Residents Directory has no user accounts, it does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a service holds. As of the August 26, 2026 research date, no enacted comprehensive Michigan consumer privacy or data-broker statute was located in the official sources reviewed; this does not displace protections in Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., or other sector-specific laws. Because we keep very little, a request generally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. A public record held by a Michigan state, county, or city custodian is outside our control and must be addressed to that custodian.
Policy Updates
Changes to this policy will appear here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
